A Day in the Life of a Professor
Read the following paragraph about Professor Arrelo, a lecturer at university.

Professor Arrelo works at the Institute of Education. Every morning, he arrives at the university at 8:00 AM. He prepares his lectures in the staff room and drinks a cup of coffee. He teaches English Grammar to first-year students on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He doesn’t have lunch in the cafeteria; he prefers to eat in his office while he reads academic articles. In the afternoon, he meets with students during his office hours to answer their questions. He loves his job because he believes in the power of education.
Present simple
We use the present simple for facts, routines, general truths.
Facts: Unahur offers tuition-free education
Routines: I go to university three times a week.
General truths: Columbus discovers America in 1492.

Use: daily routines, repeated actions, habits, permanent states, timetable or programmes.
Time expressions: every (day/hour/week/summer/year/etc.), always usually, every morning/afternoon/night/ at night/ on Sundays/Tuesday, at the weekend, etc.
